An Integrated Onsite & Online Model

Our Integrated Onsite and Online Model blends together the effectiveness of face-to-face education with the convenience of a remote learning experience.

This integrated approach is available for all courses wherein specific portions of the curriculum are taught onsite, in person, while others are taught online in remote learning sessions. Courses are carefully selected by HMC and both onsite and online portions are designed to support each other, enhancing the learning experience for all of our adult learners.

The Integrated Onsite and Online model provides many benefits for the adult learners during their Montessori academic journey. The online component allows participants to complete the coursework learnings at their own pace, taking the time needed to consider concepts, digest readings, and observe all of the content at a personal pace before responding to an assignment or moving forward in the course. This integrated online portion also helps limit expenses and time associated with travel for our Montessori adult learners.

We feel strongly, however, that there are several aspects of the learning experience that simply can not be translated online when acquiring the disciplines of Montessori education.

A large majority of our curriculum takes place onsite, in person to enable essential and crucial face-to-face interactions. These interactions build relationships, provide a context for the learning, and an opportunity to work with real-life, 3D materials in each classroom. This onsite portion of the academic phase also allows for spontaneity and improvisation skills which are key to an enhanced learning experience.

HMC’s online learning is designed in a 3-period lesson format. There is a lesson to introduce the topic, activities to deepen the understanding, and an assessment consisting of the synthesis or application of the information.

With thorough planning, HMC requires the following course components to be taken in an online format:
