HMC Mission
Houston Montessori Center is dedicated to the advocacy of children and adolescents through Montessori education consistent with the philosophy and practices exemplified by the American Montessori Society (AMS). The goal of Montessori education as, stated in the key concepts and practices of the American Montessori Society, is preparing persons to be independent, competent, responsible and caring citizens who are life long learners.

  • teacher education for candidates through participation in MACTE accredited early childhood, elementary, secondary, and administrator courses.
  • community service which increases awareness by providing access to information about Montessori education including print and non-print materials, buy providing model classroom facilities for Montessori professionals and by organizing and presenting workshops.
  • professional development offering resources and services to improve professional practices.
